A Clock's Tale

"the world sucks" screeched an alarm clock
crawled all the way to the sink
pretended not to see his toothbrush
"things could be better" echoed the water
splashing on his forehead where twelve hangs
placed himself inside a pressed shirt
same color as yesterday, blue, but a slightly darker shade
steering wheel felt the same to his palms
same as last year and the year before
with slightly fatter fingers

"one is shorter then the other"
his eyes scanned his arms again while reaching
to the start button of his desktop

"coffee or tea" asked the office boy with a bright smile
"either" bleated the clock
processed a few email requests
moved to the right and left in his chair
did couple of arm stretches
and turned off the lights at five

wet detergent residue on the garage floor
gave him a personal earhtquake and a following coma
"you suck" shouted a monkey wrench with higher diploma
aiming his beeper first, then the battery holder and more
his deep sleep staged a re-cycling factory where
he transformed into a magic music box
spraying velvet notes with scent and aroma
that heal the ill foreboder and quiet the alarm
to then turn up the joy and awe
felt by the audience of this musical drama
