"Look what you have done!" the guest scolded the old man "his highness' hair is flying all over the place, you wont need any seasoning for your food from now on." He lowered his voice and narrowed his eyes while saying the last words of the sentence since he was well focused on the fly that he was gonna smash after a few seconds.
"You are a nasty man! That is disgusting! At least dont mention my food when you make this kind of connections between objects. You have already killed my appetite for today" the old man stopped combing the dog and rushed to the door. He pulled the door open so swiftly that it could not find time to scream this time.
The first attempt to hunt the fly was successful, the dog raised his ears without moving his body when the noise of the guest's slap echoed in the room. "Shit! That hurts, plus there is a tiny corpse on my knee" he whined.
"Why did you do it then?" the old man asked while he was shaking the dog hair off his pants and shirt at the threshold.
"I dont know" the guest shrugged, that was the best answer he had ever known. "The gramophone stopped again, is it older than you by the way?" he enjoyed pulling the old man's leg like that in return to his question.
"Age and its limitations is just an illusion my friend, Mr. time is very skillful to make us , the audience, believe his tricks" the old man sighed.
"Okay okay, if you start talking this way you will never stop I know. Lets go and hunt real stuff, bigger than flies. You say you dont have appetite but I am starving." The guest grabbed the old man's rifle that was hanging on the wall.
"It is damn hard to help a person who does not know that he knows, and it is worst when it comes to a person who does not know that he does not know!" murmured the old man while putting leash on his dog and placed a box of shells in his crossover shoulder bag.

I like this strange old man and his dog and his guest. These are really cool fables in a long and honourable tradition, Shell. The old man is a mindbender.
the guest (whom I introduced as the stranger in the previous story/scene) and the old man act like they loath one another but I think they secretly enjoy each other's company:)
to be continued...
