Two men and a dog watching it rain

The Guest: "Look at the clouds, they are not letting any of the sunbeams reach the eye like jealous young lovers."

The Old Man: "Why not, cant you think of a possible love between the sun and water? Maybe sun calls water to be closer to her so water raises and turns into clouds. Whenever the sun goes little far clouds cry, send their water down to the earth to wait for being called again.."

The Guest:"Ah, such a romantic scenario on the tears of clouds that I could expect only from you. Anyways, no time to shoot the breeze, my legs ache...bloody rain must be on the way"

The Old Man: (Murmuring) "Lay your head where my heart used to be. Hold the earth above me. Lay down in the green grass. Remember when you loved me..."

The Guest: "What is this, man! Do you have fever or what?"

The Old Man: "Tom Waits, Green Grass... Just fell onto my tounge from among the old memories..."

The Guest: "Come inside fast, it has already started. Call your stupid dog also!"

The Old Man: "Let me first get a big bucket, there is a hidden hole on the ceiling, I should have retiled the roof long back (whistling and calling the dog in)..."

The Guest: " Haha, and you keep telling me that I am the lazy one!"

The Old Man: (Sniffing the air in the room) "Dont tell me you had a lady friend here when I went to give the socks to those guys this morning!"

The Guest: " Yeah, in my dream only! How on earth has this come to your mind?

The Old Man: " Then what about this green apple fragrance in the air? Or lemon maybe..."

The Guest: " You better ask Mr. Waits..."

I love these stories you write. They are so like old fables but they have also have a modern amusing almost ironic twist in them. The relationship between the characters is becoming clearer and clearer. They are brilliant and could be used to explore so many ideas. Your intelligence and erudition and your wonderful spirit makes your blog a joy to read, Sherifa.
